A few pages. A shared table.

The host keeps the story moving. Read the notes before you print, and keep the answer key in your own pile.

Start with the host notes.

Read the kit’s host guide and answer key before the players arrive. Follow the instructions for that story, rather than hiding clues around the room.

Print and separate the pages.

Give the player sheets to the group. Keep the host guide and answer key out of the players’ view. Leave room on the table to compare clues and write in pencil.

Designed to use a home printer and ordinary paper, with no special materials.

Let the players do the noticing.

Ask what they have found and which clue they want to try next. In The Attic Sunday Map, some puzzles use results from earlier pages.

Offer a hint, not a solution.

Use the hint ladder one hint at a time. Let players decide when to ask. The story takes place on paper: do not lock doors, climb, or search real rooms for clues.

Try the sample first.

Mailbox Mix-up has its own host notes and answers. It is a separate two-puzzle activity, so you can try the format without the paid kit.
